The Budget Picture is run by Common Sense Money. You can explore the published Budget figures without creating an application account or submitting personal financial information.

We have not added advertising, behavioural analytics or tracking cookies to the Budget application. The application does not save information in your browser’s local or session storage. Hosting and security services may use cookies needed to operate or protect the site.

Vercel hosts the website and processes technical information, including IP addresses, browser and device information, and website requests, to deliver and protect it. This information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Vercel and its providers operate. Authorised site administrators can access operational records for troubleshooting. We have not configured external log forwarding.

Vercel manages hosting-record retention under its privacy notice, including records needed for security and legal purposes. The period for viewing logs in a dashboard is not a deletion deadline for all hosting records. Vercel privacy notice.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to respond, investigate an error or consider a suggestion. Correspondence may be kept as a record of the enquiry or correction. Please include the page, financial year and Budget item, and avoid sending sensitive personal or financial information.

Official sources and social profiles linked from this site have their own privacy practices. Social profiles are links, rather than embedded social widgets.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we keep your email address, confirmation and consent records, and delivery status to send the emails and honour withdrawal. Newsletter consent is separate from any account or other mailing list.

To limit repeated signup attempts, the application creates a keyed fingerprint of the network address. The signup security records contain the fingerprint and request time, not the raw IP address, and are deleted shortly after an hour. People using the same network share this signup limit. Confirmation and unsubscribe are not subject to it.
